Desert Dragon
The Desert Dragon is feared by all who travel the endless scorching sands of the world’s great deserts. Its armored scales and powerful pincers have ensured its survival to the present day.
Draco desertum
From a distance, the Desert Dragon might resemble an overgrown scorpion, but the fierce, reclusive creature certainly qualifies as a member of the dragon family. In fact, it has the hardest scales of any dragon, along with one of the most powerful bites.
Its bronze color allows it to blend perfectly with the rocks and sand of its home- arid, uninhabited deserts. This dragon’s unmatched ability to camouflage ensures an unfortunate surprise for the unwary.
The Desert Dragon’s ancestral line can be traced back to Arizona Bark Scorpions. Legend has it that a particularly unlucky Bark Scorpion was trapped under a massive boulder for centuries. When the boulder finally cracked, out came a new desert terror- the Desert Dragon.
The Desert Dragon was last seen a few years ago by a particularly ambitious adventurer who spent decades looking to see this creature with his own eyes. Since then, no confirmed sightings of the Desert Dragon have occurred but scientists still believe it is likely still living.
